LargaVista is a real estate development, investment, and management firm based in New York City. LargaVista means “long view” in Spanish. This characterizes the company’s thoughtful approach to property acquisition and development while also honoring its shareholders’ Latin American roots. LargaVista's core investment philosophy is driven toward maximizing shareholder real estate equity that will continue to accrue for generations into the future. It is precisely this strategy that has produced outsized returns for LargaVista's investors for over fifty years.
LargaVista specializes in the development of properties that are environmentally impacted or present unique entitlement challenges. Addressing these complex issues by applying creative solutions has enabled LargaVista to thrive for decades. The original company, Gaseteria Oil Corp, was founded in 1973 by Oscar Porcelli, an immigrant from Argentina, who specialized in building retail gasoline stations. Operating under the iconic Gaseteria brand, the company eventually grew into the largest independent petroleum retailer in the New York metropolitan area. At the turn of the century, under the direction of Marcello Porcelli, the company shifted its focus from petroleum operations to real estate development in order to maximize its extremely valuable portfolio of prime legacy assets. LargaVista continues to expand its portfolio, and now owns and/or manages nearly 70 properties in New York City constituting over five million developable square feet. In addition, the company has select investments in Florida, California, and Chicago.
LargaVista pursues a wide variety of opportunities, which vary from build-to-suit projects for international retailers such as Starbuck’s and British Petroleum, to large-scale mixed-use developments. The company is currently in the pre-development or construction stages of various projects that exceed 1,000,000sf of retail, residential, commercial, and industrial space.
